Pro Football Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor was charged with a felony count of third degree rape (in which a person over the age of 21 has sexual intercourse with a person who is younger than 17), his wife Lynette Taylor has been on the media circuit pledging her complete faith in her husband and her belief that he was set up. And of course his attorney Kenneth Gribetz, states "We're confident his innocence will be proven."

However as the days pass and more info becomes available, LT is not looking so innocent. Especially since admitting to at the least having solicited a prostitute and if said prostitute is the young woman listed above then that would make him guilty as charged, no?

We assume that we will not be accused of doing things we did not do, and that the legal system guarantees that we won't be falsely convicted. Unfortunately, false accusations are more common than we would like to think and sport figures seem to rank high in this unfortunate situation. But is it the legal system that makes them vulnerable to accusations by those looking for infamy and/ or fortune or is it the lifestyles these public figures lead of drugs sex and alcohol, that leaves them wide open, not just for false accusations but also to actual infractions due their inebriated state of minds that impair proper judgment of boundaries ?
